While any reprieve is welcomed, service providers will again be facing a five percent budget reduction in six months time.
A decision on how this stopgap funding will be allocated is expected at the end of October but there is no assurance that funding will be returned to all organisations that have had their budgets reduced.
Winners on the day included Somme Park in Derry/Londonderry, where residents won the Grow Your Own category for their vegetable plot, Abercorn Court in Portrush which won best Independent Living Scheme garden, Hezlet Court in Coleraine which won the participation award and Glenshesk Court in Ballycastle who took the top prize for most innovative garden.
Felden in Newtownabbey was named Best Overall Family Development and Newtownabbey resident Colette Goodall won Best Individual Gardener.
We are urging the Housing Executive to reinstate the funding immediately to all providers.
